History & Foundation

The Positive Mind Center, established in 2015, is the evolution of The DiMele Center for Psychotherapy and Counseling, a mental health center in NYC from 1974-2015.  The DiMele Center was established by Armand DiMele, a larger than life figure who was a titan of mental health research, advocacy, and treatment for over 40 years.  In 1988, Armand began The Positive Mind Radio Show with the intent of bringing

“ ideas, concepts and guests to help you live a more positively minded life.”

With his superhuman on air diagnostic abilities, Armand could provide listeners with immediate solace and comfort for ANY issue they were dealing with. Not only could he provide immediate relief, he often provided listeners with insights into their functioning that could help them improve their lives. For Armand, the answer was most often found by living from a heart centered place than a head centered one. He is missed greatly by so many people of NYC and beyond, and ALL listeners of the show.

Kevin continues the mission of the Foundation for Positive Psychology begun by Armand, focusing on the development of short term psychotherapies and providing outreach to under served populations.  We are currently providing outreach to veterans of the Iraq and Afghanistan wars and individuals suffering fwith Opoid addiction. Contributions can be made to the Foundation via the website.
