Linda currently specializes in working with veterans suffering PTSD. She has extensive experience treating trauma, addiction and relationship dynamics. Linda also is a certified yoga instructor.

Marti Resnick, LCSW
Marti is a long-time friend of The Positive Mind Center and WBAI. She has worked many years with Armand DiMele and rejoined us this year to continue her practice. Trained in psychoanalysis, Marti is able to meet the needs of many different clients including adolescents and couples struggling with Anxiety, Phobias, Depression and OCD. She also offers low cost treatment for those in need.

Kate’s experience as a psychotherapist includes chaplaincy from a Buddhist perspective in hospital, hospice, and palliative care, Social Orgonomy, a modality of education that addresses interpersonal dynamics and problems with social structures including work with individuals, families and work organizations.

Julia Colangelo, LCSW
Julia has a special interest in working with young adults, couples, children, and families with a focus in brief solution-focused treatment that combines CBT and mindfulness. Julia integrates percussion, visual art, and music into therapy treatment depending on her clients’ needs. Julia conducts sessions in both English and Spanish.

Effi Shaked LCSW
Effi is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a graduate degree from Columbia University and MSW from NYU. She holds a post graduate certification as a Couples and Family therapist from the Ackerman Institute for the Family. Effi is a passionate therapist who offers a safe and warm environment to her clients. Her specialties include relationships, life cycle transitions, adjustment to aging, mood disorders and addictions. With her many life’s experiences, Effi combines emphatic and personal approach with a variety of therapeutic tools and modalities to create a strength-based, client focused treatment.

Tara Cuskley Psy D
Dr. Tara Cuskley is a licensed psychologist, providing cognitive behavioral therapy and dialectical behavior therapy for children, teens, and adults with a variety of psychological diagnoses and emotional concerns. She earned her Psy. D. from St. John's University, has taught graduate level courses in Neuropsychology, Child Psychopathology, and Cognitive Assessment, and works part-time at a therapeutic day school in Manhattan. She is also trained in mindfulness techniques and Reiki energy healing as a supplement to traditional psychological treatment modalities for her clients.
Barbara Stelzer LCSW
Barbara has been in practice 35 years plus. She graduated from NYU and is certified by the NY Psychoanalytic Psychology Institute. She specializes in the treatment of trauma, eating disorders and addictions. Her therapeutic approach is a combination of psychodynamic and behavioral work depending on the issues presented. She is certified in EMDR and welcomes working with recent graduates and young professionals.
Dr. Fabiana Franco PhD
Dr. Franco received her doctorate degree in clinical psychology and is a professor of clinical psychology at George Washington University. She has worked in a variety of inpatient and outpatient settings including clinics, medical hospitals, psychiatric hospitals, and forensic settings. In addition to working with adults, adolescents, children, couples and families with various clinical presentations, Dr. Franco specializes in trauma and abuse issues, C-PTSD, multicultural issues, and forensics. She has extensive experience in individual, couples, and family psychotherapy as well as in diagnostic evaluations of adults and children with various diagnoses.
Frankie McLaurin, LCSW
Frankie is a licensed psychotherapist with many years of experience in working with teenagers and adults who suffer from Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder, Oppositional Defiant, Depression and Anxiety. His practice has recently expanded to treating couples who may be experiencing challenges with adapting to changes within their relationships. Frankie believes in using a psychodynamic approach in his sessions to meet the needs of his clients. Also, he accepts several different insurance plans which you can find listed on his website.
Alexandra Poolt, LCSW
Alexandra's specialty is assisting couples and individuals cope with the divorce process, blending families/parenting and emotional support for adult children of divorce. Additionally, she is trained as a community and civil court mediator. While working her day job affords her to tap into the pulse of NYC’s health and mental health issues; Alexandra puts special focus on a growing private practice to provide guidance and therapy for individuals wanting to move towards change.
